Can I use my existing telephone?

If your analog telephone is less than 10 years old, you may keep it. If it is more than 10 years old it may not be compatible because the adapter we deliver only supports the new standard for connection of the telephone line.

ISDN telephones are not compatible with the adapter. If you have an IDSL telephone you need to obtain an analog telephone.

Wireless analog and digital (DECT) telephones will also work, and are recommended if the telephone is not set up at the same location as the adapter.

The physical and electrical interface is EG 201 188. For signalling of for instance CLI, “Reverse Polarity” is applied combined with “Dual Tone Alerting Signal” according to ETSI EN 300-659-1.
